Fougan à Barcelone - World Heads up Final

And there, it looked like the match was over when chipleader Thomas was holding KQ against Kate's 77, all the money in before the flop, and the the first card off the deck was a king. Thomas shouted "Yes!" - but the second flop card was a seven, giving Kate a set. A huge dent in Fougeron's stack, and the Frenchman was now down to 7K.

A narrow escape for Thomas. On a flop Kh 5c 4c , he had a K6 for top pair / no kicker, and was all-in against Kate's Kc Qc for top pair / better kicker and a flush draw. So, Thomas was up against the better hand and the better draw. A five came on the turn to pair the board, and an ace on the river meant that Kate's better kicker had been counterfeited, making this a split pot. This match was the last round three match that was still going, and got transferred to the televised table. But he fought back to the chip lead. And on the final hand, he got all the money in with a pair plus open-ender while Kate just had the open-ender. No surprises, and the strong Frenchman was through.
Ba apparement il est sorti au tour suivant en en 10min
Le bon vieux coin flip préflop AQ vs JJ (qui tiennent)
5h00 ou 10min c tout ou rien
mais bon enchainer après un HU de 5h ca se comprend ...
Roberto Binelli (Italy)* - Thomas Fougeron (France) 0h10
It took Fougeron's first match a very long time to finish, almost five hours - but the second one was over in a heartbeat. One raise by Robert, one big reraise by Thomas, and one all-in reraise was all it took. JJ for Robert, AQ for Thomas (who was all-in for 19,800 total), and when no big cards came on the board, the Italian was through.
